Happy Monday, fashionistas! I can't even explain how excited I am to be kicking off Back to School Fashion Week today, so I found this picture to do the talking for me!
You can link up your own back to school outfits or wish list items at the end of today's post, or use #b2sfashionweek on Instagram. I can't wait to swap ideas!
Today's outfit is PERFECT to kick off this fun week. It may even become my first day of school ensemble! I found this navy dotted shell at Ann Taylor last week, and instantly knew I had to have it, but I just wasn't sure what I was going to wear it with yet. I brought it home, peeked in my closet, and there it was... my FAVORITE Loft lace skirt from last spring, GLOWING. Okay, maybe it wasn't really glowing, but I just knew it was the perfect match for my cute new top. Believe me, this was a VERY special moment, friends! It's as if these two pieces were made for each other!
Shopping Guide:
Navy shell: Ann Taylor (available here)
Necklace: Loft (available here)
Sandals: Target (last year)
Watch: Michael Kors outlet (available here)
Starting
school so early means shorts are still a MUST for evening events and
weekends. I loved my lace skirt so much, I knew I HAD to have these
lace shorts from Loft as soon as I saw them. I wear them at least once a
week and get compliments on them every time! This outfit was one of my favorites of the summer!

A sweet reader, Tara, sent me this picture of her new black and white chevron dress she just bought to wear to school this fall. She was asking for shoe suggestions to wear with her dress, and I asked if she would be willing to let me share her dress on the blog this week, in case anybody else is having a similar shoe dilemma!
Can we just take a sec to oooh and ahhhh over the CUTENESS of this dress? Good job, Tara! :-)
I think a pair of black canvas wedges would be SUPER cute with this dress for a wedding or dinner date, but I know how unrealistic anything with a heel can be for the classroom! So for school, I would definitely recommend a dressier sandal with this dress. Here are two suggestions:
Finish off the ensemble with a cute cardigan for a pop of color, and some glitzy jewelry. These pieces are both from JCrew Factory. Find them here and here. I think Tara will definitely be turning some heads in the hallway this fall!
